This 34 inch curved ultrawide stands out for its 3440 by 1440 resolution, 165 hertz refresh rate, and gaming features like FreeSync, PIP and PBP. The price looks unusually strong for the listed specs, and the 200 dollar range makes the size and feature set tempting. The main concerns are the basic VA panel, the 1 millisecond marketing claim, and the fact that curved screens can cause nausea or headaches for some. It feels like a value play if the curve and panel type suit your setup.

  • The curved ultrawide format can still be appealing for gaming setups that want a wide field of view.

  • A Sansui TV reportedly worked well for about two years after replacing a higher-end Sony, suggesting performance can matter more than brand reputation.

  • A newer Sansui ultrawide alternative with a FastVA panel reportedly costs about $240 after a coupon, which can offer a different value path.

  • Curved screens can trigger nausea and headaches for some people, which makes a flat monitor a safer choice for comfort.

  • The listing's "1ms" response-time claim may be misleading because response time is often discussed in nanoseconds rather than milliseconds.

  • Response-time claims may not reflect real measurements, since the best-case 1ms and average closer to 10ms are disputed.

  • The brand and spec claims may be questionable because the original Sansui reportedly went out of business around 2014 and the current name may be used by a Chinese white-label company.

Didn't know they were still around. Love my Sansui 7070 from the 70's. Not sure I'd trust a company many people still think is defunct, but for $200 it is tempting.

Why don't traders use multiple gaming monitors?
I've always wondered the something, you'll see them with 4-8 independent monitors rather than 2-3 large/wide screen ones.

I think some do now. Before it was probably easier to snap certain charts on to specific monitors vs resizing windows constantly. But now with large monitor management software that lets you segment into virtual monitors. That said, they also don't care about response time or refresh rate like gamers do. You can get a lot of 19" to 24" monitors for ~$50/pop or less.

Sansui, now that is a brandname that is a blast from the past. I still fondly remember my Aiwa hifi surround sound system with 2 tape A/B for recording and 3-cd changer, hitachi color tv with a corded remote and National VCR.
