I was so desperate 18 months ago, I bought 2 batteries and a charger with no bonus tool. Can I return the new batteries and charger if I get a new set? That once was possible.

I'm going to say yes, since I've done it in the past. Others on here say they've had success with doing that as well. If not, you could always just return the whole order, but I think you'll be fine.
