Agh just purchased the Cuckoo twin pressure. Was eyeing this one before though. Does anyone have experience with both brands?

Got the 5.5cup at a similar price in October, already have a mysterious scratch on the outside of the insert. Kinda sad, hope it'll last! Did side by side comparison with HCC on variety of rice but couldn't tell much difference from the taste.

Same here. Also bought the cuckoo twin. Not sure which is better. Not sure if the twin pressure is just similar to a instant pot.

I've used both brands in the past and both are great. I currently have a Cuckoo 10 cup w/fuzzy logic/16 options and it's perfect. The twin pressure Cuckoo or this one is basically a preference and what you're going to do with it, can't go wrong either way.

There are two models. One made in China and one made in Japan. I believe this model is made in Japan, and at this price, it's a slick deal with 10% back with prime since it usually goes for around 225 to as much as 265. I like the retractable cord but that eventually gets damaged from wear and tear

I've had this model (made in japan specifically) for 4 years and make rice atleast twice a week. It still makes perfect rice with no signs of issue/slowing down and the retractable cable works just fine.

Actually a Slick Deal! I have the 5.5 cup and it makes perfect, really fluffy rice everytime. Don't get me wrong, a regular rice cooker can make rice just fine, but the Zojirushi and Cuckoo takes your rice up to a new level. The rice comes out the same everytime even if I go a little over or under on the water.

And for Sushi rice. It has the wait time prior to start cooking built in. Just wash your wash and go. And in case anyone needed a Sushi Rice Recipe:

Short grain calrose rice. Nishiki if you can't decide.

Rinse 2 cups of rice until clean with cold water. Around ten times if you don't know.
Put in rice maker.
Add 2 cups of cold water and cook.
Meanwhile, pour 1/3 cup of rice vinegar into a saucepan.
Add 1 tbsp salt and 1.5-2 tbsp sugar. Whisk until dissolved and pour into container to cool.

When rice is done cooking dump in into a wide-bottomed container and use wooden or plastic paddle to spread the rice out.
Pour the rice vin mixture over the rice and mix well.
Let cool for 20-30 min, stirring every five or so to release steam.
Once rice is warm but not hot to touch, use it to make whatever type of sushi you like.
Happy Holidays!

I was about to purchase- but then I saw 10 cups. Is this only good for families?
As a late 20s guy living with their partner, can you leave rice in this overnight to take to work the next day? I currently have a budget rice cooker and I hate the leftovers it makes. So I only make enough for dinner + sometimes one extra meal that gets reheated.
If this doesn't keep warm overnight then I'll just be in the same situation with gross dry reheated rice the next day

That's one of the benefits of using a machine like this for Fuzzy logic. You can definitely leave it in for 24 hours and the quality will stay the same.
Although I don't recommend leaving rice in past 24 hours, I've definitely been lazy and left it after one dinner for the following nights dinner and the rice was exactly the same as the previous night.
But don't get worried. Throw that rice in a tupperware container. Then when you go to reheat, get your hand wet and splash a little water over it so the rice doesn't dry out. Still good.

I will say, a 10 cup cooker for 2 people is a little overkill. But at this price, it's hard to turn away.

Happy rice cooking.

Geez people you don't have to cook 10 cups of rice in this. That's just the capacity. I've had this exact machine for over a year. Never have I cooked 10 cups of rice in it at once, and I use it daily. This is an outstanding deal for this machine.
