And for Sushi rice. It has the wait time prior to start cooking built in. Just wash your wash and go. And in case anyone needed a Sushi Rice Recipe:
Short grain calrose rice. Nishiki if you can't decide.
Rinse 2 cups of rice until clean with cold water. Around ten times if you don't know.
Put in rice maker.
Add 2 cups of cold water and cook.
Meanwhile, pour 1/3 cup of rice vinegar into a saucepan.
Add 1 tbsp salt and 1.5-2 tbsp sugar. Whisk until dissolved and pour into container to cool.
When rice is done cooking dump in into a wide-bottomed container and use wooden or plastic paddle to spread the rice out.
Pour the rice vin mixture over the rice and mix well.
Let cool for 20-30 min, stirring every five or so to release steam.
Once rice is warm but not hot to touch, use it to make whatever type of sushi you like.
Happy Holidays!

This Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy is a dedicated rice cooker best known for consistently fluffy rice, especially sushi rice, with results that stay steady even when water is a little off. It handles small portions well and still cooks 1 to 2 cups nicely, while the 10 cup capacity is useful for guests or bigger batches. Long term reports are strong, with units still running well after years of daily or weekly use. Main caveats are the large footprint, the 10 cup size being overkill for some households, no GABA brown rice, and the teflon coated inner pot.
Common Questions (5)
It cooks small batches well, including 1-2 cups, and still comes out fluffy and consistent. The 10-cup capacity is mainly extra headroom for guests or bigger batches, but it does take more counter space and can be overkill for one or two people.
Yes, rice can reportedly stay in the cooker for about 24 hours without losing quality. For reheating, transferring it to a container and adding a little water helps prevent it from drying out.
Yes, it has a built-in wait time before cooking that helps with sushi rice, and the finished rice is described as very fluffy and excellent for sushi. One recipe shared for it uses short-grain Calrose or Nishiki rice, then seasons the cooked rice with rice vinegar, salt, and sugar.
There are two versions of this cooker, one made in China and one made in Japan. This model is believed to be the Japan-made version, which is the one praised for long-term reliability.
No, this model does not do GABA brown rice. If that feature matters, this is not the right version.

But I have seen the induction one's for sale used on ebay. Looks like a second hand shop is selling on or two of them.
Also, putting it in the cart will also trigger a price hike.
Its the BS supply and demand excuse.
Although I don't recommend leaving rice in past 24 hours, I've definitely been lazy and left it after one dinner for the following nights dinner and the rice was exactly the same as the previous night.
But don't get worried. Throw that rice in a tupperware container. Then when you go to reheat, get your hand wet and splash a little water over it so the rice doesn't dry out. Still good.
I will say, a 10 cup cooker for 2 people is a little overkill. But at this price, it's hard to turn away.
Happy rice cooking.
Thanks OP.
Rice cookers are GREAT!
