I agree with you. HOWEVER, you do get adequate functionality without a subscription. Plus, a full year subscription costs~$120, for unlimited cameras.
What is really concerning me is the support absolutely sucks beyond words. I have been in a loop with a support ticket for about 2 weeks with a support person "Irene" and have literally gone through the same 'scripts' 3 times. What is the state of the lights. Reset the router, reset the sync module, make sure you are using 2.4g wifi, at one point the rep stated 'you are using 5g, that's why it won't work '(it's on its own 2.4 g wifi network) . enable support access(I'm not sure they even looked at the logs)
And the rep will not escalate.
It's ridiculous, based on that fact itself I'm not sure I would be willing to pay for the subscription anymore.

I have multiple blink systems set up at multiple locations, and I've been in tech >20 years, I know why it won't connect, but the tech won't escalate.....
