DO NOT BUY ARLO. A couple years ago they paywalled a ton of features that were previously free behind a subscription service. I bought Arlo stuff because my FiL had it and liked it, but that was right before they made these changes.

It was an absolute nightmare to set up with hours spent on the phone with support techs in India having me repeat the same steps over and over on the phone even though I had just performed those same steps. I still have the cameras (about to change over to Next cameras because that door bell works well) but there was, literally, usually a 30-45 second delay when trying to talk with someone via my Arlo doorbell cam and speaker. It would take 30+ seconds to load and was functionally un-usable due to the delay between when someone said something, when I heard it, when i responded, and when they heard it.

It's awful. I'd rather not have a doorbell camera and security cams than spend money on Arlo.

I have this doorbell and I have never been able to talk to someone when they ring the doorbell. I can answer it and see them but they never hear me. I've tried two with the same results.

Avoid. Requires a subscription and they change terms of service on the fly. They love spamming their trash here.

yeah it's pretty neutered camera system without the subscriptionthey give 50% off monthly all the time which shows they are scummy just trying to get people to upgrade to subscription then just make it to where they are dependent on cloudi have a base station and it doesn't even record thumbnails unless you actually look into each filei will say they do have decent hardware since my ultras are going on 4 yearsyou are going to need to figure out how to get solar panels and better scheduling to make full use of arlo systems with or without sub
