It's decent. Costco has had $100 for $80 for a while now. As others have said, combine these with merchant offers for the best bang for buck. But do note that DD has changed how their deals work - for example, in the past let's say you had an offer of spend $20, get a free medium pizza. Let's say that medium pizza is normally $10. When you added that medium pizza to your cart, it counted toward the $20 minimum, so if you added 2 medium pizzas, the total of the food would be $10. Now, after the changes, you would need to hit the minimum of $20 not including the free item - so you would need to add 2 medium pizzas to hit $20, and then you would get a third pizza free.
Keep in mind that DD charges anywhere from 15%-30% for sellers depending on their merchant status, so most restaurants increase their prices by 30% or more compared to their in-house prices. Sometimes you can select pickup to get their in-house prices, it depends on the merchant. If you want the best deal, make sure they have cheaper prices when you select pickup and go that route instead.
My Costco stopped selling these and it's OOS at all locations around me. I really hope they come back but in the meantime I'm stocking up on these. For most places around me, the 15-20% discount on the gc more than offsets the markup so it's still a good deal.

That's just bad for Costco. Personally I would say at least half the reason I visit Costco, and buy other goods, is to pickup DD gift cards. I would buy much more from local tj which is right next door if they don't carry those gift cards going forward
I can't misplace it; it's a digital card that I add to my account online, it's not a physical card to misplace. Even if I order cards via US Mail, when they come in I add them to the online account, so there is nothing to lose it's with me on my phone or on my computer when ordering (Uber / Dash / Etc)

Huh? Offer has digital delivery of a code, and you then add the code to your doordash account, you can't "lose" it like a physical card.
Nor forget it, since it'll prompt you to apply the balance with every order you make.
Math isn't QUITE right here--- it's 5% of $85 back so only ~19% off original $100... meaning the Costco deal ($80 for $100 plus whatever % back the card you use at costco gets you) is slightly better but prob. not enough of a difference for most folks to care- and costco deal is in-store only so saves a trip
You guys don't find that you get less good promos when you have a high gift card balance? I was trying to save them to add as needed but it's hard to dig up since I didn't keep a record of them all in one place. (And the multi store gift cards have been hard to redeem after a year. Have to contact the stupid company. Those were you have to go to some website and you get your code). There somewhere in my digital contents.
But I think it is still in fact a moneymaker for companies to offer gift card. " companies make significant profits from selling gift cards through various strategies, including unspent balances, immediate cash flow, and customer overspending."

No.
Regardless of having a balance or not I rarely see DD "promos" that aren't either for everyone (the NBA50 code when someone scores 50 points in a game for example) or per-restaurant (like $5 off $25 or $8 off $35 or whatever for certain places).

Again not understanding you at all.
These are digital "cards"--- as soon as you get the code you add it to your DD account.
You never need to "look up" anything else or "contact" anyone.
