This Donruss Basketball Mega Box is mainly a low-cost rip for fun, gift giving, or younger kids, with 30 more cards than the Haunted Hoops trick or treat set and a higher card quality feel. The price can drop well below the listed total with rewards or certificates, and the box has even been found elsewhere for a dollar less. The main drawback is that paper Donruss is mostly junk wax with little real hit value, and this is last year's set, so Flagg is not included. A decent retail break if you are not chasing big cards.
A $5 certificate reportedly reduced the total to $17.29 shipped with taxes.
Rewards and tax still reportedly left one buyer paying $6.55 after applying $5 and $10 BB rewards.
The Mega box deal reportedly matched the Haunted Hoops trick-or-treat set price while offering 30 more cards and higher-quality cards.
Mega boxes reportedly can be a better target than many retail blasters for slightly improved pull odds.
Paper Donruss reportedly contains no real cards of value and is mainly for the fun of opening.
Donruss basketball retail reportedly skews toward junk wax with only a handful of good cards.
Retail blasters and many Mega boxes reportedly struggle to produce meaningful hit cards compared with Hobby boxes.
Some orders reportedly faced backorders even after getting multiple boxes.
