The lowest price for this model was with Lenovo 11/20 for $1499. Unfortunately with component price going up again I do t think it'll go that low again anytime soon.

This is just my opinion only. It was a slick deal only for a few people who was able to get the promo in the very short time frame on a working weekday. It was a marketing strategy from Lenovo to sell a few units at $1,500 to create attention directing toward their website for other deals and the deal didn't last more than a few hours as I tried to jump on that when I saw that post in the morning and it expired just as it was posted.
I ordered this on Amazon and I am happy. Amazon runs deals for a week or more and offers everyone to get in on the deal and these units are shipped from Lenovo just through Amazon with better returns and services. To say, pay a little more to get better services from Amazon is always hassle-free than from direct. I trust Amazon more than buying direct because when there are problems, Amazon provides better services (only in my case and ymmv for everyone).

Bought this PC on BF for basically the same price and it handles pretty much any game I throw at it. Absolutely love it and couldn't be happier.

How would this compared to similarly spec'd laptop? How nice/proprietary are the cases? Can you swap in an off the shelf PSU? Any mobo quirks?

Thinking between this one and the Costco deal with 9800x3d and 5070 gpu. Any thoughts about the comparison here? I'd rather have the 9800x3d, but the 5070 ti is a pretty solid upgrade too!

The 5070ti is a much more significant upgrade for gaming. As the GPU always is.

Must have been a trick, considering there is no hard drive.

There is no laptop that can really match this. Maybe a $4000 RTX 5090 + 275HX Laptop.

9800x3d trounces the Intel cpu in gaming. The 5070 ti is a good deal better than the 5070 due to the vram bandwidth. Depends on the games you're running

The biggest blemishes on this pre build are the RAM (DDR5-5600 vs 6000) and inferior cooling but otherwise this thing is a beast. That said, the 9800x3d CPU is going to outperform for gaming

I bought this on the last 1500 deal. Super solid build. It has Samsung ram, a FSP 850 Watt PSU - A Tier. WD NVME. The GPU is a all metal shroud. One of the best looking OEM cards I have ever seen. It's also whisper quiet, literally no noise when gaming.
