DryDex 32 oz. Dry Time Indicator Spackling Paste (2-Pack) $15.55 64 oz

cover your material inside your containers with a layer of Saran wrap, and a bit of water on top of the saran wrap, it'll never dry out.

you can also take some out put in a sandwich bag cut the corner off, use it like a tube works, put it back inside the container on top of the saran wrap layer.

Depends on how big the crack is, but yes, that's it's purpose. You'll need to paint it once it's dry.

Consider the root cause of the crack, if it developed over time (not an impact fracture) you might be respackling in the future if you don't address what caused it (settling, fatigue, etc)
