Reminds me of Chris Rock's take on good neighborhoods: women hanging around at 2pm on a weekday? Good! Men hanging around at 2pm on a weekday? Bad!

I use a 20# vest for almost everything from pullups to hiking, it's a terrific way to make things harder without having to just go for more speed or more reps.

I'm not sure I'd even notice 10# but it's all relative to your bodyweight and fitness. The smaller ones fit a lot better, too, less flopping around.

Weighted vests are great for exercise. Unlike normal exercise, you don't do any extra activity. You just wear the vest and do what you would do normally - include going for walks. The fact that you are carrying extra weight means your body has to work harder - like if you carried a gallon jug of milk in each hand on the walk. Benefit over carrying weights are that your hands are free and it is a lot easier to carry weight on your torso than on your hands.

If you see women walking with these, be happy. You live in a great neighbourhood.

Here is an interesting article comparing research on whether weighted vests work or not for women over 40.

Should you wear a weighted vest to build muscle and bone? [cspi.org]

Bottom line

Don't expect a daily walk with a weighted vest to curb bone loss. But assuming you don't have back, neck, or joint pain and aren't at risk for a fracture, there's little harm in wearing one. You'll make your workouts more challenging and may get a small boost in your strength, balance, and cardiovascular fitness.
"Getting people to exercise is really challenging," Beavers acknowledges. "There's probably a whole group of people who weren't even walking, and if a vest gets them outside and moving, great." That doesn't mean it's a replacement for strength training. "But it's something."

I love wearing these for bed time. Burning extra calories while sleeping is great. Joking aside, 10lbs would be too light for men I'm afraid

Yes they make you heavier and safer in windy conditions.

Idk. I think it works fine to accurate fat burn vr.

Will definitely increase sprinting speed.

Weighted pull-ups. Dips. Sprints. Push-ups. Squats. Vests are OP. I work out at home only now.

Reminds me of the ankle weights he had in the 80s.

I'm placing an order! I've wanted to try a weighted vest for a while. Thanks for the heads-up!
