On the classic style, if you prefer a middle dim level by default, you have to either go super bright and dim down, or hope you feel for the right little triangle button and wait for it to progress from darkness to where you want it. It's my biggest annoyance.
On the new ones, if you want full brightness but don't want to adjust the slider - which it sounds like you prefer - you just double tap the on button and it's fully bright. It's way more functional from my point of view.
Thanks, which newer style dimmer switch do you suggest?

One other interesting observation is that we hardly use most of the switches - they are integrated with Google home and automatically turn on / off. Few of the switches are paired with a motion sensor - so again automatically turn on. And in some places, instead of using a smart switch, a plain motion sensor switch is lot more effective.
Add: And the ones integrated with Google home, we also verbally ask Google to turn ON/ Off the switch.
