Deal Details
Specta are DJI drones made out of the DJI factory to bypass upcoming US restrictions.

I have purchased this drone and it is exactly the same as a DJI Mini 4K. There are no equivalent drones regarding quality and camera as this drone for $209.

The only differences are:
1) Specta/DJI batteries are not cross-compatible.
2) Specta uses a cloned DJI app.
3) Specta has no brand markings on their drone.
4) No warranty beyond Amazon or purchased Allstate warranty.

Community Reviews

This is essentially a DJI Mini 4K style drone with a lighter, non DJI ecosystem and no geofencing, making it appealing for travel and first time flying. The camera and flight performance draw the strongest praise, with reports of sharp footage, responsive controls, and solid results on trips. Battery availability is the main drawback, since only one battery is included and extras can be hard to find or costly. It feels like a capable compact drone if camera quality matters most.

Common Questions (5)

  • Only one battery is included, and an extra battery can add about $100. Specta-branded replacement batteries have also been bought separately for about $59 each, but availability can be limited by production backlogs.

    ed1968ChrisJ6195carraig

  • It is effectively a DJI Mini 4K clone for most practical purposes, but it is not bound by DJI geofencing. That makes it a similar-size, similar-use drone with fewer location restrictions.

    ChrisJ6195carraig

  • The camera is the main reason to buy this class of drone, so the better camera option is usually the better long-term choice. On range, it is described as 4 km versus 10 km for competing models, so the transmission distance is notably shorter.

    ChrisJ6195gamefan98

  • It has been used successfully as a first real drone and can produce impressive travel footage, including in Bali. It is also described as responsive and easy to live with for the price.

    LivelyHamster7687carraig

  • No. Its stabilization is single-axis with electronic image stabilization, not a 3-axis gimbal.

Not the Mini 3, but clone of the DJI Mini 4K, currently going for $282.

Pass. Not the same (too many differences to be the same). You can get a DJI Mini 4K drone today; you don't need a "bypass clone." That's a hoax. Making you think something is unavailable so here, buy this because you "still can" nonsense. If I were DJI using that strategy, I wouldn't be cloning Mini 4K, I would be cloning Mavic 4, Air 3S, and Avata 2 drones so I can "sneak those into the US." The reason for the Spectra is because that's the only drone Spectra (or whoever they are) could afford to ripoff Americans with. Because nobody would buy a Spectra Air 3S clone, just like nobody bought the Skyranger. LOOOOOOOOOL
Specta does indeed have a clone for the Air 3S. And it might shock you but "Skyranger" has a Mini 4k knockoff with front obstacle sensing and better range than the Mini 4k."

So, back on topic, what WOULD be a good adult drone in this price range with these kinds of specs?

This one. But only one battery isn't going to cut it. Add another hundred for that, and buy them immediately. The drone won't take mini 4k batteries.

In my opinion, either this, the original Dji Mini, or the Skyrover S1 with a better camera. They are all adult drones. Just know that the camera is the main reason you're buying a drone, so pay for the highest quality camera that you can in the beginning and you'll most likely be much happier with your purchase.

This is good advice. I bought extra Specta batteries for $59 a piece from Amazon

As somebody with this drone, it is the DJI mini 4k for all intents and purposes with one HUGE difference. It isn't bound by DJI's big brother geofencing methodology.

This is a fantastic drone for the price. More responsive than my Autels, no geofencing, etc. only issue is that batteries have been hard to get at times for to production backlogs.

Agreed, my Autel drones never had any geofencing and I actually never ran in to any restrictions with my DJI; I could fly DJI wherever I could fly Autel. But I do understand it's a big deal for some people depending on where you live and fly. That being said, I'm glad DJI has eliminated geofencing in *all* of their drones everywhere so no one should have those specific "DJI problems" any longer. How's your smart controller doing?
