For a desktop with this performance, this is an outstanding value. Truly remarkable how cheap *great* computers have become.

This is a deal that's hard to beat. I was looking at picking up an inexpensive mini-PC by Minisforum or GMKTek but at $400 you'd have to be crazy to buy anything other than this. Nothing even comes close to the value proposition here.

Lowest iPhone storage is now 256 and lowest computer storage is still 256, that I don't get. I never find any sale on 512. :-(

Just pulled the trigger - buy now think later. No card authorization for pickup so if I decide against it then no harm no foul. Will sell out today.

I have been using a 27" iMac with Open Core Legacy Patcher that runs fine. The M4 is 1 year old now and likely a M5 will be released in mid-26 though memory prices may add a wrinkle to things - however for almost everyone, this will last many many years. The M4 may miss out on one OS update that the new release will get - but there are plenty of smart folks out there and I suspect another "OCLP" will be available by then. This is the buy point vs waiting or buying on the used market - thanks OP.

Thanks for the heads up, I just placed my order. They didn't collect my money on checkout so it looks like it is pay in store, but the order did go through. I tried the last deal at $450, but was too late as they were already out of stock at all of the stores close to me. Blessing in disguise.

Is this useless if you already have a macbook air m4, plus a beefy desktop pc setup? I can just connect my laptop to the monitor and will aerve the same purpose right?

Unless you just don't want to deal with the "hassle" of docking or want to "reduce wear" on your Air, I would skip

256 GB doesn't seem like much.

Also check local marketplace listings and craigslist for Macbook Pros with broken screens. I picked up an M1 Pro 16GB/1TB for $300 and just removed the display and use as a headless slabtop. Works great.

What do people use these for? And with 256gb, I am always regretting not going higher when I bought my M1 MBP in 2021.
