This Mac mini M4 deal stands out as a strong value for a compact macOS desktop, especially for everyday work, media, coding, and light creative use. The 16GB of memory and 256GB SSD are enough for many setups, and external Thunderbolt storage or an SSD upgrade can stretch it further. It also pairs well with existing monitors and peripherals, making it appealing for a DIY desktop setup. The main caveat is the small internal storage, which can feel tight for video work or large libraries, so it fits best when you are comfortable adding external storage.

Got it for for $390 at Best Buy through price match + $10 gift certificate.

I had to go through several agents who said "no" for various reasons until I got one that said no problem. Ended up paying the $480 price, which they would then go on to refund the difference. It seems to be the only way it would work based on others' comments. Fyi, this worked even though the two closest Microcenters are about a 3 hr drive away, and both were OOS. They asked my zip, but it didn't seem to matter anyway.

work 60 hrs a week? you're crazy! Don't pull up the curve that much for the rest of us Smilie

Also, I dont understand the usage of this... For work, why don't just get a MacBook so we can still work anywhere we go?
I do end up using my macbook more because my "latest" files are on it. iCloud or other cloud file sync is a dog. I ended up using my macbook the most because I do carry it and continue the work when I am on the go

With TB4/USB4 it's easy to add more, and it's also possible to swab out the internal SSD easily. NBD
It's always "easy" to add more externally -- but that's not the point. And the internal drive is a different config/design, which means you can't just go to the store to nab one off the shelf. And it's not easily swappable for the average person. Apple copium.

You can't replace the internal storage on these. It's all soldered, fully integrated. Just buy a Thunderbolt dock with m.2 bays and whatever NVME floats your boat.

You can, it's not soldered but it's using a proprietary slot.

Mine was just delivered a couple of hours ago. Wasn't expecting it so soon, but I'm definitely not complaining!

Good thing this is sold out or I would be forced to spend $400.
Yes, thank God it's OOS. Saved myself some money just by being late!
