Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard whey in Vanilla Ice Cream is being discussed as a large tub that mixes well and works especially well in coffee, smoothies, or dessert-style recipes. The flavor is polarizing, with some finding it bland or too thick for smoothies, while others prefer mixing it with chocolate, peanut butter, or Greek yogurt to improve the taste. Price checks put the deal around the low 80s with Subscribe and Save, though Costco alternatives and subscription discounts can undercut it. A practical pick if you want bulk whey and plan to blend it into other flavors.
The deal can land around $85 shipped, which lowers the effective cost for stocking up.
The chocolate and vanilla flavors can be made more enjoyable by mixing the whey into Greek-yogurt pudding with mix-ins.
The protein can work well as a coffee creamer, and it tastes better in milk than in water.
The vanilla ice cream flavor can be tolerable for some users when they are not using it in smoothies.
Double Rich flavor can taste bland or like nothing, and some people find it watery.
Amazon orders can arrive with expired protein, and refunds can be difficult to obtain.
Vanilla ice cream can be too thick for smoothies, which makes it harder to use for that purpose.
The deal value can drop if Subscribe & Save is not at the expected discount level.
