Have had this machine for several years. It makes a decent espresso and doesn't take up a lot of room.
Descaling is a pain, did it once successfully and haven't been able to replicate it so now it always blinks needing descaling.

I'd like to replace it but we do pots of coffee during the week and espresso at other times, and haven't quite found an all in one machine that fits the bill.

Have had this machine for several years. It makes a decent espresso and doesn't take up a lot of room.
Descaling is a pain, did it once successfully and haven't been able to replicate it so now it always blinks needing descaling.

I'd like to replace it but we do pots of coffee during the week and espresso at other times, and haven't quite found an all in one machine that fits the bill.

I own this exact model. It makes a decent cup of espresso and it doesn't take up a lot of space. I use reverse osmosis water so I descale every other time it recommends to. Only thing I've replaced is a new strainer insert that has a removable metal filter to make cleaning easier. Would I love one of those giant Breville units? Sure, but this is "good enough" for the occasional use.

Take a look at the CASABREWS 3700. We also wanted a simple stater unit for under 100 bucks. I've only had it for a few weeks, but it makes decent, simple espresso at an excellent price point. Feel free to go fancy *after* you start drinking espresso.

Descaling is indeed a pain, but there are YT videos out there that explain it well.

We had two of these. One, I ran into the ground in 5 years. The other was still good after 5 years, but then we upgraded to a Breville.

It's a great machine. I had two and used them for 10 years. At $150, this is a no-brainer. I paid more for my last one, 5 years ago...

If you know what an espresso is and what is required to make one, then how can any company make a drip coffee maker and espresso machine in one? The two drinks are completely different method of processing.

Machines like this are basically a drip coffee maker attached to an espresso machine, so when one inevitably dies (or you want to upgrade one,) you have to replace both.

That's just a drip machine taped up to an espresso machine. Garbage. Doesn't do either well.
