From my understanding the double click issue is still there and only "fixed" on the more premium models of Logitech mice. Its kind of a shame its like that

The Logitech G305 is a lightweight wireless gaming mouse that stands out for strong battery life, good feel, and responsive performance at a low price. Long-term use reports describe it as comfortable, reliable, and easy to run on AA or rechargeable batteries, with some setups lasting weeks or months between changes. The main concern is the recurring double click issue, which has shown up after months or years for some units, though cleaning or later batches may help. A practical budget pick if you want a simple wireless mouse and can live with that risk.

Common Questions (4)

  • Yes, double-clicking is still reported on some units, often appearing after about 11 months to a year of use. Some owners have kept theirs working for years, and later batches are said to have improved switches and components.

    paulk11087cons08dave128BoastfulKite9143

  • Battery life is commonly reported as very good, with regular AA batteries lasting around two months in typical use and some setups going longer. Rechargeable AA/Eneloop batteries also work well for many users, though one report said Amazon Basics rechargeables drained in about two weeks.

  • It can sometimes be improved by cleaning the mouse, especially around the clicker area and side-wheel grooves, and some users report the problem disappearing after opening and cleaning the inside. If the switch is fatigued, the micro switch can also be reset or replaced.

  • It is a common sale price for this older model, and similar pricing has been seen before at other retailers. Best Buy has been listed at $29, so the Amazon price is not a standout bargain for everyone.

I have this one and it developed double click issue after one year. Even though I never played games with it, just with the controller.
I had double click issue briefly. Took a few days to figure out what was going on. Once I figure out it was the mouse clicker. I took mouse apart and cleaned inside in about 3-5 mins. Never happened again post 1 year now.

Did they fix the double click issue?
That is how 10M Omron micro switches perform. And one can always crack them open and reset them after the fatigue or replace them.

I use the G Pro now but was using this for 5 years. It's a good mouse but find it a little small now.

Double click issues. I spent a ton of time with Logitech customer service about it and they refused to send a replacement mouse. Logitech products aren't nearly as good as they used to be. Many gamers are now moving away from the Logitech ecosystem.

Mine has treated me very well. Had the same one for about 3 years now. My young kids frequently steal it off my desk and I end up digging through piles of toys to find it. It's all beat up but still functions perfectly. No double click issue.

AA batteries is the only downside to this mouse. Rechargable and it'd be awesome
No, do not get rechargeable batteries. I tried it, I had the amazon basic rechargeable battery and it ran out of juice in just two weeks with this mouse, while the regular battery lasted for two months.

No problems here with rechargeable batteries, I even use AAA batteries (Eneloop) with an adapter to lighten the mouse (and remove the cover to shed more weight). Works great and lasts more than 2 weeks with all day use. 4.5 years later, still no double-click issues.

For me this is the plus about this mouse. I use rechargable AA's. I have a more expensive logitech rechargable mouse with lithium battery and it no longer holds a good charge and is apparently a huge pita to change the lithium battery out while not losing these little magnetic switches etc. Rechargeable AA's for the win. And they last quite a long time in this mouse for the last 2 i've had.

I have a G602 which developed the double click after a little more than a year. Pretty damn frustrating

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've been using the same G305 daily since March 2021 with no issues. No double-click, I got Eneloop batteries in it, and I've installed teflon skates on it. The only thing wrong with mine is that I've been using it for so long that the Logitech logo on the mouse cover is fading.

Grab the Mchose G3 for $15 or $30 for a more premium spec'd one. The G305 is just very outdated for $30.
What revolutionary technology exists now that didn't when this mouse was designed? Hall-effect switches? Unnecessary for 99% of users. I've been using this "outdated" mouse daily for 3 years in an office setting with zero issues.

Have you actually used it? Are you at all aware of the battery life? I've had it for a year with zero complains

Solid mouse. Been using mine for occasional use on my living room media computer for a year or so now. Don't think I've had to replace the battery yet

The later batches have improved switches and components. They should last longer. I have put 2000 hrs on my one on C2S and no issues still.

Upside for me. I always have eneloops ready. You guys must have high polling rates for it to only last 2 weeks.
