This is the correct answer, so long as the top loaders dont have or have a removable center agitator. If you have one of those models, its all preference and space.

Quite a few 1 star reviews for these washer/dryer combo. Any real insight from y'all?

A lot of the reviews seem to be either LG hate or bad installation. A couple of reviews have some legitimate complaints and criticism and a few about the longevity of parts.

Supposedly, clothes wash by rubbing against each other. A front loader can accomplish more with less water.
