They've definitely been fighting the new restrictions, but they've also hedged their bets and withdrawn warranties and DJI Care in the U.S. They see the writing on the wall.

I bought this slickdeal and it got delivered. my first drone . pretty cool toy and the camera quality is great to me. I gained a lot more respect for the ppl that can fly and work the camera lol. if worse comes to worse maybe DJI will open source everything and the community will take over.

That will never happen. At best, somebody will come up with a replacement, open source firmware that will require hardware changes/modifications.

It's not open source but I have used Litchi software on my dji quads for years. I have no worries about software updates.

Is it worth an upgrade from mini 2? I'm definitely not paying $750 for 5 Pro where I'll have to figure out if I'm above 250 or not but if I get this and flip mine for $200 is it worth spending $150?
