Blink Mini is a tiny indoor camera that works best for casual pet or spot checks, especially when paired with a subscription or local storage setup. It offers 1080p video and simple live viewing, and the low price makes it easy to use as a temporary or secondary camera. The main drawback is the heavy subscription dependence, since live view stops after 30 seconds without it and clip history needs a Sync Module plus storage. Image quality and reliability also draw complaints, with reports of blurry video and occasional network issues.

Common Questions (4)

  • Yes. Without a subscription, it is mostly limited to live view; clip history and fuller functionality require either a subscription or a Sync Module with local storage.

  • Yes, but only if you add a Sync Module plus local storage. Without that setup, the camera is mostly live view only.

  • Live view stops after 30 seconds unless you tap to continue. With the $3/month subscription, continuous live view extends to 90 minutes, which is useful for baby-monitor or extended monitoring use.

  • This listing appears to be for the older first-generation Blink Mini 1080p model, not the current 2K Plus camera.

Same crap as wyze pulls where every other feature has been put behind a paywall. I replaced all my wyze cams with tapo ones not to long back and can get all the SANE features needed without a subscription. The cameras also supports dual streams of RTSP on top of writing to the microsd. This allows for a low quality stream which is used for ai detection of people etc using something like frigate so you aren't using full 2k streams and killing your wifi. On wyze it only handles one stream and if you pick rtsp in addition to losing all cloud features I want to say you also lost the ability to write to the microsd which just seemed stupid. Add to that even if you have the "cam lite" free subscription from back when your cams originally HAD people detection built in and then lost it if you ever wanted to upgrade to anything newer than the v3 camera's (like when one of them dies and they no longer sell the v3) then the cam lite subcription is no longer sufficient. They tied it to specific generations of camera's (after the fact too as at the time the "Free" subscription came out it was the v2 gen of cameras.)
I do have tapo. Dropped blink and wyze. I sold all my blink stuff for a fraction of what I paid.

Amazes me how people fill their homes with this spy cam trash. You know they were at least paid to live in that big brother house?
Yeah, I tend to see some rustled feathers any time I post info about the shit these companies are pulling on people. It always fascinates me the lengths people will go to justify a cheap price on SD, or defend their sunk cost/time.

With the amount of negative emotion people pour into this consumerist junk, you'd think they were being paid by these companies to defend them. I suppose there will never be a shortage of useful idiots.

About to return mine from best buy. Didn't expect 1080p to be this blurry . Tapo c100 was pretty good the only issues was the sound. I might try Wyze v4

no subscription = mostly live view, unless you add Sync Module + local storage to get clip history.

Do these give out a stream I can use in any system? No use buying a camera otherwise, no matter the deal.

The same offer is currently on Bestbuy as well. If you combine the front page $5.00 - $10.00 Promotional Certificate, you can get it for free (gotta pay taxes) or get 2 for the price of 1.

I've tried all kinds of wireless cams, including tapo and cheap no-name ones, and blink is the only one that failed (wifi radio can't find network) within a year. On top of the limitations and inconvenience, other than the price and maybe keeping the same network tech hard to justify buy.

I just use it to check on pets when out of town and pay for subscription as needed, keep it unplugged otherwise.

FYI, there is an alternative firmware for a bunch of other cameras (including Wyze v2/v3, but excluding Blink Mini): https://thingino.com/

I use it on 10+ Wyze v3 cams.

I was thinking of using them as cheap printer cameras. Would they not be good for that?

Is that to make sure your printers aren't doing anything behind your back?

They seem to misbehave the most when I"m not watching them. The p1s camera isn't great. Sometimes it gives me error about using more than 2 devices. Thought about just getting an cheap external camera and calling it a day.
