I was on the 19.99 dollar per month plan.

Here is exactly what I did:

1) I canceled my current plan by going to my subscriptions page: https://play.google.com/store/acc...scriptions

I clicked Manage and then Cancel. That ended the plan, but it stayed active until the end of my billing cycle on January 9. I found I could not use the promo yet.

2) I went to this page next: https://myaccount.google.com/deleteservices and deleted the already canceled account. That immediately ended the service and triggered a partial refund.

After that, I went back to the promo page and I was finally eligible for the promotional pricing.

I signed up for the 99.99 dollar per year 2TB Google AI plan. So now I am paying 99.99 dollars per year instead of the 239.88 dollars I was paying before. In other words, I am paying the same amount for 12 months that I used to pay for 5 months.

Would someone be kind enough to let me know how much it costs to upgrade to the 200gb? There should be an option after you purchase the 100gb.
After purchasing the 100gb plan for $9.99/year, I had to go back in to upgrade to the 200gb option for $29.99/year (same price as before the discount). The $29.99 is charged immediately so really you're paying $39.98 to re-enable the 200gb plan for an additional 608 days, approx 1 and 2/3 years. But what was nice was getting the $9.99 100gb plan payment as a 243 day credit for the 200 gb plan, as opposed to a 120 day credit for what the $9.99 payment should be.

anyone running into an issue where it says "You're not eligible for the introductory price, but you can still subscribe without it" even after following the instructions to cancel subscription + deleting from services?

its a trap. once you are you will be paying actual setup price annually for rest of your life at ridiculous markup.

Worked for me! I was gonna keep my current standard 2TB plan for half off, but decided to just do the AI 2TB for the same price. So, not saving money, but getting some extras.

FYI I did have to cancel my current annual subscription through the two links mentioned in this thread. I did not get a request refund button, but I did get an email telling me I would get a prorated refund.

Also, I had to re enable family sharing for my Google 1. So remember to check that if you share your plan with a family group.
so storage and data was not impacted? and you were also the primary manager of the account? You Didn't have to use another member to sign up? TIA

I recently renewed my annual plan for 100GB in November and followed the instructions provided here. I canceled the service and deleted the Google One service from my account, and I received an email immediately informing me that I would be receiving a partial refund. Signed up for that Google One AI Pro while I'm at it heheh Thx OP!

Thanks a lot. Followed steps and it worked perfectly, however, 3 things to note for others:
1) $99 for 2TB AI plan is only for first year, 2nd year renews at $199 but hopefully we can do the same trick again
2) I had to enable Family plan again as it was toggled off
3) if you have Play Pass, check if you have an offer to get 3x points for 1 day - I activated before purchasing 2TB AI plan again and got 300 points instead of 120

I canceled the subscription. When I tried to cancel the service, it gave me this error message.

"It looks like you purchased your Google One subscription through iTunes. First, cancel your subscription through iTunes. Then return here to delete your information from Google One."

Anyone know how to deal with this?

I am getting close to filling up my 100GB plan. I rather do 200 GB renewal at regular price. I don't think I will use 2TB anytime soon. It will be waste. Once you are on 2TB, one will be careless and will be stuck with the 2TB plan for life. Gemini has ways to go. I will stick with my ChatGPT plan for now.
