I'm always concerned about the accuracy of these off brands. But for a tool you would use only once a while, maybe it's good enough? Anyone have any input on these?

Problem is that while the name brands are much more accurate (<1/16th inch per 100ft vs >1/8 inch per 33ft) they are also much, much more expensive. Too much so for the occasional none professional use.

I had a cheap lazer set that came from Costco. It was a gift. I tried using it to hang suspended ceiling lights. One drop and it was destroyed.
