The Ninja CREAMi Deluxe stands out as a fun way to make high protein, lower sugar frozen treats at home, from Frosty style chocolate bases to fruit, Dole whip, and even cottage cheese or Greek yogurt blends. The texture is the big draw, and the motor is described as strong enough to handle daily use, though loud. Practical tips help with results, like letting the pint sit before spinning and using hot water on the container sides. The main cautions are the prep work, ingredient cost, and some refurbished units failing or needing warranty help, so it suits tinkerers who want custom desserts.
Common Questions (5)
Common bases include Fairlife chocolate milk with zero-sugar chocolate pudding mix and chocolate protein powder for a Frosty-like result, or half-and-half plus whole milk with instant pudding, vanilla bean paste, sucralose, and fruit. Greek yogurt, ricotta, and cottage cheese bases are also used for higher-protein, lower-sugar desserts.
A refurbished Woot unit has been used for months with no issues, but another unit failed to power back on after the third use and a different purchase arrived dead after the return window. The refurb can be fine, but the risk is real if you miss the return period.
It can be lower in calories and higher in protein than store-bought ice cream, but it is not automatically cheaper once you buy milk, pudding mix, protein powder, fruit, and other ingredients. The value comes more from customization and nutrition than from raw cost savings.
The motor is strong and loud enough to be noticeable, but it is also described as normal for the machine. It can still be used daily without signs of trouble after months of use.
Let the frozen pint sit 15-20 minutes before spinning and run the container sides under hot water so it releases cleanly. If the texture is still off, a respin can help, and mix-ins like Oreo Thins work well.

If you buy whatever ricotta or whatnot that is on sale, it's pretty slick, and if you factor in that the ingredients can be healthy and won't land you in the hospital down the road, the price per quart is VERY slick.
I am about to try some really out there stuff like the black bean chocolate base?!? Woo ha! I am also convinced I can make dippin dots with the right mix of ricotta - I've accidentally come close a couple times already.

Nobody is eating a frosty to be healthy but this is a healthier version of it for people who track their macronutrients. Some of us enjoy a snack every now and then

jello pudding mix is cornstarch with some flavorings, emulsifiers, and sweeteners. Neither that or special milk is needed. they're just shortcuts. you can make the same thing on your own with "whole ingredients" and slightly more work
