You can't get typical broadcast. OTA channels for free over the Internet. (ABC CBS NBC) The one option that was out there got sued out of existence. Antenna, or pay for one of the subscriptions is the only easy/legal way.

Replaced most of my sticks, after a while they all slow down to shit with all that Amazon shopware they throw at it, Garbage. Get an Android box and you are better off.

It is for the middle tier, Premium with 200+ games. States for new accounts only which you can always get around by creating a new login.

Buy Onn device from Walmart. It's much better for side loading apps.

Still Linux kernel. Still GPL. Source is available. Side loading is not any more difficult than on previous models (I mean from a security standpoint). But the apps do need to run on Vega O/S. If that takes off, great - you're fine. If not, why bother?

Fire TV can be useful if you have no alternative. But its user interface and user experience are absolute garbage, and will be even worse with the new OS, which allows no sideloading (for those who would use alternative launchers).

I moved to Apple TV and never looked back.
