Are OLEDs monitors safe to use these days? Or do they still have burn-in issues?

They still have burn-in issues. They always will. It's part of the technology. You can expect 2-3 years of use with OLED if you take excellent care of it and use all the "oled care" features 100% of the time (and never make a mistake), and also only ever use it for movies and light gaming. Any UI elements will burn-in in less time than that if you're using it daily for hours at a time. Most companies provide a 3 year warranty for burn in though, so you can take that for what it's worth.
Thanks for the reply. Dang, the time frame you gave is really short. Spending $750 for 3yrs of daily use (if that) does not seem worth it. No doubt OLED is better than IPS, but IPS is 1/3 the cost for 2-3x more life expectancy (based on my experience). Value-wise, OLED is still not worth it.

That person has no idea what they are talking about. OLEDs have tremendous lives and do automated pixel refreshes to avoid burn-in.There was recently an article, just this last week, that talked about how OLED has such a longer life than LCDs.

Why are you spreading false narrative? Current OLED and especially QD OLED technology has close to 0 chance of burn in, unless you do some pretty hardcore burn in testing, which obviously doesn't simulate any kind of normal use.

There is a 21 month torture test on this exact monitor. Yes if you use this monitor 60 hours a week for spreadsheets and other static content that would be best suited for an IPS display, you'll have some burn in within 2-3 years.
The problem is no one in their right mind would spend more on an OLED just to do office work on. They would save some money on a monitor that is better suited for office work.
If you use this monitor for mixed use as I do (25% productivity, 25% web browsing and watching videos, 50% gaming) it should last 5+ years depending on how many hours a week you use it.

Been using this monitor for 4K gaming for a year now. It's absolutely awesome. No problem so far. I have no icons on the desktop, auto hide task bar, random rotation on background pic every minute, auto clean of pixel every 8 hours plus every time monitor is off.

Did a ton of research before pulling the trigger. I have the curved version of this monitor and I absolutely love it. I've owned 3 WOLED TV's (all LG's) and coming off an IPS gaming monitor, will never go back personally. I don't know much about burn it (never experienced it on my TV's) but you won't go wrong picking this up. Got mine for $630, refurbed on eBay from the MSI refurb page. I'm not one for over saturation so I toned down the color to my liking.

Have the stripped down 321UP (4K 165Hz, identical in every other way). Owned since 2/17/2025, so over 10 months. Daily use for general web browsing and gaming every now and then. No issues at all, highly recommended for gaming and movies. I think if you use the monitor for more than 6 hours, it will do a pixel cleaning, like you turn off the monitor, and you will see a blinking orange light for a bit before it actually turns off. Because it's OLED though, you can't tell it's not off haha, and only takes a couple minutes to run.
