I got one couple months ago and feels miles better than power A or a random name company for the same price, the only grip is the short cable and from time to time my switch doesn't recognize it, other than that best controller for the price.

If you want this for $20 to last 6-12 months, go for it.

I'm very disappointed 8bit won't make Hall Effect standard. You just know they are holding it back to let the current controllers drift, and make a new generation with them standard down the road.

9/10 people aren't even using the sticks. They're using this for a raspberry pi or windows emulation and the games that use those sticks are very few and far between. I have around 30 8bitdo controllers going back to their original run and all still work great. The only one that I have issues with is the micro, and those don't have sticks. But I literally have dozens of others that work great. They also sell ones that have hall effect.

These are fine but if you want to splurge and buy Nintendo's SNES Bluetooth controller I can confirm it feels and plays exactly like the one we grew up with. It was worth it IMO.

lol dude, even Nintendo isn't utilizing hall effect in their controllers. It's great when companies do but it's not like it'll instantly degrade because of it.
This is a design that mimics the SNES dogbone style layout and does so while always needing to be plugged in. If you're using analog sticks aggressively on this controller you are completely doing it wrong, lol. Go pick up a real controller with proper ergonomics if that's the case (8bitdo make solid units for a few extra bucks as well.)

8bitdo is legit. Passing on this one because controller ergonomics are really dependent on what console you grew up with. For me, the XBOX 360 style controllers they make just feel more natural.
But, I suspect the internals are the same with this and the Ultimate C. And you'd be getting a quality product at this price point. None of that, when you were a kid and the second controller was some name you have never heard of where half of the buttons didn't work half of the time, so you'd give that controller to your friend then laugh as you beat him.

Do you know any other good controllers (hall effect and durable) in this form factor?
