Are you sure you have the wet/dry one? I have the "dry" only one and LOVE it. It's 2x the price of the wet/dry version. Why would something with extra features be half the price? Probably because it has a flaw and they're unloading them.

I've tried adding an additional mesh on top of the grate. For it to have a place that stuff can get stuck on and then still have air movement hasn't really helped.

It's a beast picking up Cherrios etc. but I haven't tried it (havent needed to) on something like Flour.
