have had a similar belly boat from 10+ years ago, and these things can be an absolute blast. i've never used oars with mine, instead using flippers over a pair of waders, but these allow you to get into places that are impossible to get boats into. smaller ponds are perfect for these things. they're extremely stealthy, and you can watch fish swim at your feet... as well as snapping turtles. remember having a massive snapper float to the top of the water right next to me and i absolutely froze in fear - but the turtle didn't even notice i was there. shortly after that happened, i ended up catching my PB Largemouth of 6lbs.
it also teaches you to spend more time fishing instead of fiddling around with massive amounts of tackle since you're limited on space, which can really help with learning how to fish imo.

Thanks for the info! I've been fishing since I was a kid on aluminum duck/john boats and I knew about kayak fishing but this thing is brand new to me. How the hell did you find flippers that fit over waiters?! How did you keep them on?!

Love to fish, but this seems like more of a hassle than it's worth.

I read the rave review above. I just think a kayak would still be more enjoyable than having your feet with waders on dangling in the water the whole time.

I've got a pair of waders that don't have the boots attached, so I just wear a pair of beater shoes or boots over the neoprene stockings and put the flippers over them. the flippers I use have a rubber trap that wraps around the heel and they're extremely snug. the ones that burticus seem like they might be even better, but these are similar to what I use https://a.co/d/dBgSlws

I'm a kayak fisherman but I can see the appeal here, portability. A lot of people who use them will likely be in waders so they don't mind being submerged.

I'm fishing for bigger fish so this would be out on principal. No way I'm in this thing and trying to take a hook out of an angry gorilla blue. It's hard enough in the kayak.
