PSA that local Walmart stores have marked down all their Christmas items 50%. I found strings of 500 multi-colored LED lights on a reel for $16. Lots of other indoor and outdoor decorations, ornaments, Christmass trees, and lots more.

Highly YMMV, since Covid most places are cleaned out by 12/20. The old days of post-Christmas deals have mostly disappeared. Hobby Lobby was picked clean by mid-Dec, they kept the whole department on sale from day 1.

Retail logistics have changed drastically, most places aren't going to risk putting things on clearance anymore. It's as archaic as sleeping on the curb for BF

I was at Walmart this evening, and my local store had plenty of prelit trees and cheap holiday lights. I grabbed a couple of ornaments at 50% off, but nothing major that one would regret missing out on this deal. If you are looking for the tree, it may be the time, or they might lower it even further by next week, who knows

Walmart has two Christmas sections on sale. The one on the front of the store where most people shop at that are 2-3 lanes. Then they have more lanes near the garden section. Make sure you check both areas.

They didn't have but one little cubicle of boxes 25% off - what a disappointment

Walmart used to do 50% off for Halloween candy, day after Halloween. It was only 25% off. No one was buying any of it.

Same thing during Easter. I don't even look for clearance items anymore.

I stopped at Aldi, and they were serious about clearance. $4 food items were 0.84, 0.99 etc
