Depends on your plan, it's for upto 500mbps so should get you around 450.

Where do they say that? I have no problems with my Hitron CODA modem. Anything not DOCSIS 3.1 may not be able to use all the features though for truly fast speeds (especially uploads). That said, Xfinity is throwing in their modems for free with a lot of plans now.
