Do you hate your Dad? Did he divorce your mother to marry your girlfriend? Why buy him this trash. 27" FHD and refurbished, he will see each pixel. He took you to School, feed you, bought you clothes, was with you when you were alone, or needed medical care. Buy him something better. If you are short of funds, spend a little more ($25) and get him a 27" QHD, new monitor like the https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...6RX3B&th=1. I bought two this year, one for my son and one for me. Nice colors, no dead pixels. I have never expended more than $100 on this one, it was hovering this price with coupons or "limited time deal" for months. You do not need to act quick.

I was legit looking at this one you linked but I know nothing. Is this thing broken or something for $100? If I got it and used it alongside my other, would it work well for a dual setup? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL...175C&psc=1

I wouldn't even know which is better tbh.

The monitor I linked is a budget monitor. I cannot tell about their durability, as I have them for less than an year. But my experience is that the colors are nicely saturated, they do not come with defects, and they can do 100 Hz no problem. All that for less than $100. KTC is believed to be an OEM for bigger brands, and they started selling their panels under their own brand. The stand for this model is really bad. But because they are VESA 100x100, I mounted them on the stands of my old monitors. Be mindful that a double monitor setup with monitors of different models will have different colors no matter what (it happens many times that two identical monitors also have different colors even when bought together). But if you plan to use them for different stuff (you game in one, and check email and discord on the other), you should be fine.

Why do you think it'll look worse because it's refurbished? Either it works as expected or it doesn't and they'll replace it.

He is probably referring to the resolution. 1080p vs 1440p. The pixels on a 27" 1080p will be a little big. Might be fine for gaming.
