the tracking will be better. Compare the 3 (not 3S) vs this though and there's pros and cons

What? Quest 3 > Quest 3S > Quest Pro. Only thing Quest Pro has over them is eye and face tracking for social VR which is a gimmick in 2025. I can't think of a single reason to buy the Quest Pro at this price vs 3S or 3. Everything you said sure sounds backwards though.

I have the 3 and the pro. 3's passthru is better and sound is better. Visuals and tracking are a tossup. Pro has the eye and facial tracking but software that utilizes that is limited. Biggest difference is build quality. Pro is night and day better quality. 3 feels cheap by comparison (and the oem headstrap on the 3 is crap).

It's kind of crazy that these companies keep pumping out VR hardware, but we still don't really have any must-have games. The biggest things have been what, beat saber, which nobody talks about anymore and...gorilla tag?

I smell a crash coming.

Agree, there's no reason to get the Pro for $680 over the 3 or 3s, especially when the 3s is $250 now. If you want the pancake lens, the 3 is the better value at $350-400.

7th Guest and Myst were both "killer apps" for CD drives back in the day, and the VR versions are great ways to experience both. Moss 1 & 2 are also excellent.

But yeah, Beat Saber is still the closest thing to a killer app for VR, and even that is still more novelty than anything else.

The new Valve headset is coming out soon too so, at this price it may be worth waiting a bit. Extra bonus of not having anything tied to meta also.

Niche demographic in a niche market. The market seems to be propped up mostly by Zuckerberg/data harvesting and a little bit of Valve (Steam Frame is expected to be $600+).

Yeah, sim whales will give them some cash but with the K-shaped economy and recession inbound for the middle/lower class it's all going to take a nosedive.

Dumb question here... can you watch movies on these? Specifically, 3D ones? That would really be the only reason I'd be interested in VR. Not much of a gamer.
