Much better. You can use the ball or even a hand mixer and it'll never scuff or carry any weird tastes after you use it. I've had mine for over a year and use it 3x a week and it's still just as good as the day I bought it. All the seals are easy to remove, clean, and replace. There's no place you can't clean off this. The only one knock I have is that there might be a little drip from the flip cap if you drink after you shake it. I would have made the part convex instead of concave where it fits into the spout.
I have a plastic one with a similar lid, and I really prefer the plastic ones to it. It's less pronounced to know if the hatch is open or not which has bitten me in the past..

So I was really excited about a stainless steel blender bottle and I got one on sale earlier this year but it started leaking from the lid within 2 months. I've had some plastic blender bottles I've had for years that still have a perfect seal so I can't recommend them.

As a result of some deals back in August, I tried some bottles from this brand and Shakesphere. I ended up liking the BlenderBottle Shaker Bottle Pro most for everyday use: relatively compact, rounded base, polished plastic is easy to clean, lid has a solid click, everything can be run through the dishwasher. However, having a double wall insulated stainless steel option is pretty great during warmer weather.
I do field workouts and practices in warm/hot weather 3-4 months of the year, and I use electrolyte powder in my water jug, so I'd have to bring a separate cold water to mix my protein powder after. I used to throw some ice cubes into my plastic shaker bottle, but it would almost always be warm after 2-3 hours of being in my bag on the sideline.
I got one of BlenderBottle's Sport models, and it was nice to be able to mix at home with 2-3 ice cubes and have it still be chilled hours later. It's a little more of a hassle to clean, and it's definitely bulkier than the Pro, but having insulation during hot months is pretty amazing. I'm a little tempted by this sale since it's on the Sleek model, but I might get the Twist model (currently on sale for $20) since my usage is mainly bouncing around in a gym/sideline bag. As noted by others, the lid closure of the normal Sport doesn't feel as solid as other models, though I've personally never had leak issues.
My experience here- the lid on this doesnt snap same way as the plastic ones. Now it does have a lock but even then I can open it easily. Ive accidently had this leak in my gym bag 4-5 times and made a puddle in the middle of the gym.
I love mine. I use it daily for hot coffee and fill it to the top 3x during a 12 hr shift. Holding up very well after over a year of use, and the lid locking mechanism is really useful.
