I have this monitor currently. It looks great and the matte finish is excellent with reflections/glare, but it's not great for work use as the "pearling" from the matte finish is pretty noticeable when the screen is light colors/white. If I don't get used to it by the time the return period ends I'll try something else.
I also tried the LG-32GX850A-B, had to return it as it's just too reflective, also tried the alienware aw3225qf had to return it because it's reflective but also seemed to bother my eyes and suffer text fringing the LG did not, which is a shame as I prefer curved at this size I assume it bothered me because it's qd oled vs woled of the LGs.
The LG-32GX870A-B is excellent for gaming and media...it's office style work it suffers from the matte finish. The speakers are absolute farking garbage though, so definitely don't count on those being good for anything.
Edit: should also be noted CES 2026 is in like 2 weeks and all the new monitors are going be there and specs. Some of the details have already been released, so these older models are likely to get cheaper soon. This is already another $52 off the $867 I got it for like 12 days ago or so, and much cheaper than the $999 sale on BF week.

Lists 2.1. What makes it not full spec? Not saying you're wrong, just want to understand.
DisplayPort 2.1 standard allows for 10Gbps or 20Gbps data bandwidths. Only the latter is able to produce 4K @ 240Hz without need for DSC, which is arguably the biggest reason to swing DP 2.1 at all.
I'm considering a 42" C5 OLED over this monitor. The price is very similar and at times, the same. What would be some considerations that should stop me from getting a TV instead?

I'm sure you already know. Choose C5 if you don't need the respond time of a monitor. It's plenty color accurate out of the box and console gaming on it is great. Question for you may be whether you have the desk space for the C5 or would you rather play games at the advertised frame rates this monitor offers? For most people, TV is a better buy.

i use a c4 48" as an extra monitor. no DP means it kinda limits outputs since newer GPUs only have one hdmi slot. that on top of the bandwidth loss from not using DP.i don't see an issue if you are playing single player games, but for more comp games i'd get the monitor. honestly when i was younger i was using a cheapy black friday special 60hz 42" tv as a monitor i feel like i was way better at games than i am now, so staring at numbers and latency all day might not be the best indication for helping you play better

For what it's worth, I bought a 32" 4K Samsung QD-OLED and couldn't handle the text fringing, so I bought this, and I've been quite happy with it. Immediate improvement in my opinion. Plenty will say the opposite though.

At 150% scale, I don't see any fringing on a QD OLED. Less noise and banding on flat color screens and the expanded color volume look much better than woled. Though I'd also prefer a curve at 27inches or higher.

I have it, it's good, only thing I'm not a huge fan is the silver bezels. Would like to get the LG one but $800 to much imo
