I have the HW-A650 and my main issue is the center channel isn't adjustable so I find myself constantly adjusting the volume up to hear dialogue and down during loud scenes.

This model seems to have center channel control. Is this worth the upgrade? My existing 9100S seem to be forwards compatible too.

At the end of the day all these sound bars feel temporary. If you don't have enough space for a high end system then they are great. Otherwise spend the money on a highend system because the sound bars go bad and you car customize them like you can a good system. You're going to use it every day for years.

I have a full on setup - nothing too expensive, but a decent setup (7 surround, 4 atmos, 3 subs, 4 couch shakers) in the living room, and had to use a ~$400 soundbar after a move for about 6 months.. it's definitely an improvement over TV speakers where a surround system isn't possible, but it's definitely not near the same ballpark as surround sound (even a cheap 5.1 system). With that said, if you just can't have a 5.1 system (like for a bedroom, secondary setup, or just no space), the Samsung ones have been the best soundbars I've heard. I haven't tried this particular one, but the others have been nice.. not quite surround sound, but a good improvement over TV speakers
