"Flame retardent" seems like an odd marketing feature.

Running ceiling fan causes this switch to overheat & shutdown.

Neutral wire requirement is a killer for many. Too bad this switch requires one.

I was searching for matter certified dimmer and came across this 4 pack. Looks like a great price for me based on my research but would appreciate your thoughts and feedback. Posting so others can use it. Please go easy on me
I avoid the vendor-specific stuff like the plague. I don't know what the "standards" are (if any) for this. Sticking with Z-wave / Zigbee / etc. standards mean you're not locked in to a vendor.

Yes. And the ones that don't need neutral are always so expensive

Agreed matter is pretty new but again we don't know if they would become a new standard, below video has good details about various protocols https://share.google/Yxj9tUF6y3ThbFNm5

Too bad they aren't thread / matter, otherwise I'd buy several. I've had some headaches with the 2.4 only WiFi IOT products in my house, whereas thread is 100% perfect.

This switch is not rated for ceiling fans.

Does anyone know if these switches could be installed in the kitchen, for example, where the lights are being controlled by 2 separate swiches in a different location of the house?

Right... but not thread. Thread requires a different radio inside, whereas these are just WiFi.

It says Matter compatible right on the title.
