Frank's RedHot Original is a classic Louisiana style hot sauce that fits Buffalo wings, Taco Bell style flavors, and slow cooker meals especially well. It brings enough heat and tang to coat wings thoroughly, and it also works as a base for wing sauce with brown sugar, butter, and black pepper. The sauce is not bland even when sodium is kept in check, though the heat is only a little hotter than expected for Buffalo use. Shipping and packaging concerns have included cancelled orders and broken bottles, so the glass bottle sizes may be the safer route.
Buffalo wing cooks who want a classic Louisiana-style base, because it stays true to that flavor and can be boosted with cayenne or hotter pepper powders.
It is only a little hotter than mild Buffalo sauce, but it fits the classic Louisiana-style Buffalo wing flavor. If you want more heat without changing the base flavor much, cayenne, habanero, ghost, scorpion, or reaper powder can be added.
A 64-oz container can be enough to completely sauce a batch of wings. It also works well as a base for wing sauce when mixed with butter, brown sugar, and black pepper.
It works especially well with Taco Bell-style flavors and has been used with items like Diablo Chicken Nacho Fries. It also fits slow cooker meals, which can benefit from extra seasoning.
The Subscribe & Save orders were previously canceled, and bottles that did arrive sometimes broke in the mail with no replacements available. That makes the larger container a packaging risk to watch for.
People here whining about microplastics, lmao. Do you ever eat out? If you only knew what was in an easy one quarter of your food you would never eat out again, lol.
I have the Buffalo sandwich sauce version which I guess is thicker. But it's not spicy and has tangy taste. Would this be hotter?
Yes, a little hotter, but not much. For Buffalo wing flavor I highly recommend you skip suggestions of using Mexican or other sauces. Don't get me wrong, they (Mexican, Sriracha, etc.) can be great with other food, but for Buffalo wings, Louisiana style sauce like Frank's rules.
wow thanks! nice little products, never thought to look for powder on that level.
You're welcome, they really work well to get to whatever heat level you want. Just FYI there's a Carolina Reaper powder cheaper than the first one I mentioned https://www.amazon.com/GranAroma-...78-5767403
Do you use a dishwasher? Think about it. What are those rungs coated with? How about those wheels that move the baskets?
This is HOT sauce. The acid in the sauce sheds microplastics of its container during the months it sits in a warehouse - even more if it was stored in Florida or Texas, etc during the hot months. Yes, there are microplastics in many things. But why purposely increase them when you can easily avoid it. Frank's has 3 sizes available in glass bottles with no such risk.

It is not bland even when sodium is being limited. A little soy sauce can be added if more saltiness is wanted.

If you want it hotter you can always add some cayenne or habanero pepper powder https://www.amazon.com/s?k=habane...n-left_1_7 without changing the base flavor much. If you really want to ramp up the heat add some ghost/scorpion/reaper powder. This seems to be the best value https://www.amazon.com/GranAroma-...ref=sr_1_8 or this, even hotter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U5G7...9XCRL
