Only the attachment mechanism is designed for Mac form factor otherwise USB functionality works like typical cross-platform USB hub I'd wager. If USB ports were Thunderbolt 4 or 5 speed rated, that would most likely mean macOS only! In this case, it lists hw compatibility as "Thunderbolt, USB, USB Type C" which implies cross-platform hub-type functionality (should work with Windows 10+ without issue).

It should be fine but unless it states which specific usb-c protocols it supports assume it's ... 10gig

I mean i guess there's a chance this runs at 5gigabit on usb but i doubt it.


While 10gigabit is awesome
TB4 and USB4 are just insane fast now... and the USB/TB speeds we get in the next couple years are kind of absurd to the point where it's stilly we can't network two computers with usb.

Was released in 2022 for Thunderbolt 3 iMacs (10 Gbps). Mostly to make port access easier from the front.

Laplink do make a TB4 transfer cable. It's basically a network crossover adapter in between. They also have USB 3.0 cable for those having older system.
