Don't forget that these are not regular sharkbite fittings that just push together.

You need a crimper and rings to install this valve.

I recently learned while replacing my water heater (which has a single 3/4" valve on the cold side) that somewhere in my house, there is a cartridge backfeeding cold to hot. But I can't shut off any shower or tub to isolate it, and I can't replace a cartridge while the family is doing family things anyhow. I'd like 8 of these, but had been procrastinating putting together a $100 parts house order due to 2025 prices and suspicion of the ABCDEFG brand multi-packs on Amazon. So there's that.

Hopefully anybody who is buying this would realize it, but I figured I would add these are for PEX pipe, not copper pipe.

not needed in most applications, so i wouldn't say it's a general rule...more like an exception for only specific use scenarios

we got ones with the drain port for shut offs that feed spigots, but for everything else (ie under sinks when using in-lines and not 1/2 x 3/8comp), lines that feed laundry connections, and others, you don't need the drain port.

unless this valve is feeding a fixture that gets winterized, saved yourself the money and get a non-port one

note: that this IS made from DZR brass (Dezincification-Resistant brass)

this is a very good thing. there are a lot of cheap ball valves sold in stores and online which are not made out of DZR brass, and hard water will cause the zinc to leach out of the brass resulting in failure. i've had non-DZR brass valves start pitting and failing in as little as 5 yrs on water supply lines with hard water

I can never trust a non-soldering copper pipe valve. Especially as a shut-off valve.
