This refurbished 16.2 inch MacBook Pro stands out as a still-capable workstation, especially for memory-heavy use, with 32GB of RAM and the M1 Pro chip. The 16GB version is still being used as a daily laptop, and the 32GB configuration is described as strong for the price. Storage is the main limitation, so an external NVMe is the suggested fix if more space is needed. The vague signs of wear wording, missing OEM charger and MagSafe cable, and likely shorter macOS support are the main cautions. It feels like a solid older Mac if the condition and storage tradeoffs are acceptable.

Common Questions (5)

  • 32GB RAM is a strong point for this model and is enough for daily use. It can still be limiting for larger model workloads, where a 64GB M1 Max is preferred, but it is a meaningful step up from 16GB.

    SlickDillieElon69localdeals

  • The listing's vague "signs of wear" wording is the main caution point, especially since the condition is not graded A+ through F. One received unit had only a minor bottom dent and otherwise good physical condition.

    Hat-TrickFuschiaHeart785GimpsUnlimited

  • One purchased unit arrived with 430 battery cycles and 84% battery health. That suggests usable but not new battery capacity, so battery wear is a practical thing to check on refurb listings.

    GimpsUnlimited

  • It may not include the OEM charger or MagSafe cable. One reported unit came with a 90W Apple USB-C charger and a USB-C to USB-C cable instead.

    GimpsUnlimited

  • It is expected to lose the latest macOS releases in about 1-2 years. Apple's typical support lifecycle is around 7-8 years, so this model is closer to the end of that window than a newer Mac.

Still a pretty good laptop. I'd prefer to see 1TB, but the 32gb of ram is good. I still use the 16gb version as my daily

these have been touching this price range for a while now. for whatever reason the m2 is a little more price sticky. will be interesting when those start to come down in price also

The item description on ebay is in Spanish. No habla espanol.

To bad the condition isn't graded (A+ through F) as "signs of wear" could be bad.

The "signs of wear" is the only thing making me hesitant...

I bought one a few weeks ago, the 16GB variant. The laptop appears to be in good physical condition. A minor dent at the bottom. Battery has 430 cycles and is at 84%. But it does not come with OEM charger nor the MagSafe cable. It came with an 90W Apple USB-C charger and an USB-C to USB-C cable.

This is my daily driver. If you need more space just pick up an external NVMe.

Man I'm getting tempted here. I've been waiting for a redesign which looks to be coming in about a year, but that'll be far more expensive than this is. Then again, this is 5 years old. $800 might be a little high for its age...

Might be an unpopular opinion but saying this retails for $2699 isn't correct. Sure, when it was the current model year it was that price but it's been several years since it was manufactured. It's like saying a used car in 2025 that was new in 2022 had a full retail sticker price. It isn't accurate for the present.

I would buy the current air over this, even with less ram.

This is my daily driver as well. I have the 16GB and 1TB. I have had it since it came out. A great laptop.

Apple will stop releasing the latest Mac OS updates for this M1 machine in the next 1-2 years (normally 7-8 years is the support lifecycle)

decent price, i want a M1 Max though for this. I was looking for a 64GB M1 Max machine to run some larger models. More for convenience... my 24GB M4 Pro is choking at times and 32GB is a small upgrade with weaker CPU / GPU so I am not sure. ebay has 64GB M1 Max 16" for around $1200
