The GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB stands out as a strong price to performance card, especially for older systems and PCIe 4.0 or earlier builds. It is described as roughly on par with a 6800 non XT, with newer features, and real world results include smooth 1440p play and 90 plus FPS in Horizon Forbidden West. The main caveat is open box availability, which appears limited by store and distance, and there is some concern about receiving the wrong memory size. For shoppers who can find the right unit locally, the discount is notable because these 16GB cards rarely drop near this price.
PC builders with older motherboards on PCIe 4.0 or earlier because the 9060 XT is described as the better choice for older systems, while 5060-series performance can drop by about 50% on PCIe 4.0/older in some games.
People who can verify local availability or are willing to travel for pickup because availability for this open-box price can be limited and one buyer found a unit over 100 miles away (YMMV if it's not local).
Gamers who want strong price-to-performance and don't consider ray tracing a must-have because one commenter says the card is "as good as it gets" for price/performance as long as RT isn't a make-or-break feature.
Shoppers comparing open-box options who are okay with "excellent" condition units because a commenter couldn't find the stated condition but was able to get an "excellent" condition 9060 XT shipped for about $330.
Owners of a 9700K-class (or similarly older) CPU who want real-world expectations because one commenter with a 9700K on a PCIe 3.0 board reported ~90+ FPS maxed in Horizon Forbidden West and ~60 FPS at 1440p high in Expedition 33 and said they were happy with the performance for an entry-level GPU.
Buyers who are worried about open-box returns being checked and could be upset if they receive the wrong VRAM configuration because one commenter specifically questioned the chances of getting an 8GB version instead of the listed 16GB and whether returns are actually checked.
People who need ray tracing as a deciding factor because the strongest "best value" argument in the comments is conditional on RT not being critical.
Shoppers who are relying on generalized GPU charts without considering their specific system/PCIe generation because commenters say TechPowerUp-style charts can't capture how GPUs behave differently based on your hardware, and that you need system-specific guidance.

Do they actually check what people return?
Microcenter has rx 9060 xt 16g for $350. Worth the risk?

As long as RT isnt a make it or break it, this card is as good as it gets with regards to price/performance.
*Not, I'm not blaming the post nor anyone who buys open box items (I certainly do), but the behavior of people who buy-try-return as a freaking sport is just disgusting. People like this drive higher prices for everyone.
