I gifted my sister this same brand's (joyroom) car phone grip and so far it's exceeded expectations.
The cable is in/out - you can poke it into a USB brick to recharge the battery, or plug it into a device to charge the device. I was also surprised you can plug a cable into the port the built-in cable comes out of. I kind of assumed that would just be a spot to hold the cable, not an actual working port (I had low expectations for under $10).
Charges my watch well and the magnet is reasonably good. It's a bit wider than my other portable watch charger but not it's still very portable.
I'm usually hesitant to get things with permanently attached cables (since they can go bad), but I'm living on the edge now
