Wouldn't the RZ-30 be better at $800?

RZ30 is better choice for $100 more with new hardware !!

Of much better if you can upgrade for RZ50 for $900-$1050

Only if you needed the extra features(ie pre outs, independent sub outs, access to Dirac's subwoofer/bass RC(DLBC), 2.1a).

If not, you probably wouldn't hear much a difference , if at all ime.

To add some clarification here:
This offers the same Dirac that's included on the RZ30.
It doesn't offer access to Dirac's subwoofer/bass RC(DLBC) which cost $300.

The RZ30 only offers pre outs for 9 channels, it can not process 11 channels.

I decided to get the TX-RZ30 for $100 more because eventhough it is similar to this model the TX-RZ30 offers pre outs for the 9 channels so if I wanted to upgrade i could always add an external amplifier. It also has 2 sub pre outs vs 1 so with multiple subwoofers that made sense. Also it's a bit newer and while I saw they both have hdmi 2.1 I saw that the TX-RZ30 has hdmi 2.1a which I assume means it's a a newer version of the same thing.

And the bonus is if I ever want to eq my subs more in depth I could get the $300 bass addon and really tune my multi sub setup.
