This ACEMAGIC mini PC stands out as a compact Ryzen 7 system with unusually strong value for the included 32GB DDR5 and 1TB Gen4 SSD. The H 255 version is described as the better variant, with HDMI 2.1 for 4K at 120Hz, USB4 power delivery, and support for up to 128GB of RAM. The USB4 port also works with Thunderbolt eGPU docks, and the machine has room for storage upgrades. Main cautions are limited port convenience, possible bloatware or a reused Windows image, and the usual uncertainty around support and brand trust.

  • Home lab builders who want a compact Windows box for self-hosting, because the CPU and RAM headroom leave plenty of capacity for server-style workloads.

  • Users needing easy RAM and SSD expansion, because the system supports upgrades without the soldered-storage limits of many small computers.

  • Creators who want external GPU support, because the USB4 port can connect to a Thunderbolt eGPU dock.

  • Desk setups that need USB-C power input, because the USB4 port can accept 65W to 100W from a capable USB-C monitor or hub.

  • Single-PC Windows installers who need a frictionless setup, because missing network drivers can make Windows 11 installation and activation awkward.

  • People who want a low-maintenance computer with guaranteed vendor support, because warranty support may be limited and past malware concerns led some buyers to reinstall Windows.

  • Home Assistant-only setups, because this machine is far more powerful than that workload needs.

  • Video editors expecting the fastest external-GPU performance, because USB4 can work but may lose GPU performance versus Oculink or Thunderbolt 5.

I successfully got Amazon to match through Chat. They will adjust the pricing once it ships. I also got a $31 promotion somehow (I think through the product page but am not sure), and I was able to get them to further agree to adjust the price down to the $440 shown through AceMagic.
Hope this helps
Trying to get it matched, can you send me a screenshot please?

Get a USB dock. Best way to expand the limited ports.

Please let me know if Amazon actually follows through. I've politely chatted with them on refund, shipping, issues, etc. and have multiple times been told "what I wanted to hear" and never received the price-match, refund, shipping delay, etc. I'm genuinely interested in if Amazon chat does anything other than tell you what you want to hear to move you along. Thx!

In my experience it takes multiple follow-ups but I'm persistent and usually get what they tell me they'll give. I will try to remember to follow up here, too.

Can you hot swap the eGPU or do you need to reboot?
USB4/hunderbolt 3/4 always supported Hot Swapping but whether a reboot needed or not, may depends on the OEMs of the device and the eGPU dock.

Both have good points and bad points depends on the software you want to run. This unit you can easily upgrade ram and SSD assuming you consider it affordable. I think it might have better bluetooth range if I recall correctly.

Mac Min runs MacOS. Mac Mini is not as upgrade-able, but you can upgrade the SSD. 16 GB of ram is a little bit more limiting in some situations. I rather have an upgradable system, but the bandwidth of the ram is nice. Overall performance in most situations goes to the MAC, but that means little if it doesn't run the software you need.

Overall if you are just a casual user of basic tasks I would likely suggest the MAC. If you are heavily Apple oriented, the Mac is likely a better choice. If you know what you plan to run simply pick the one that works best for you.
Mac mini has soldered SSD and can't be upgraded by any normal users.

Any thoughts in how this compare with the Mac mini M4 that was, and still is, on sale at $400 recently at Microcenter/Best Buy (price matched)?
I agree. Get the Mac Mini M4. It's an awesome little machine!

So what. Just get a 24GB Mac Mini. There are 3rd party SSDs that can be installed if you want more storage. Or, you can just use an external SSD enclosure.

They should have made two USB ports (out of four) in the back into two USB C ports. Then, it's a smoking deal...

How you are gonna insert 3rd party SSD directly if SSD is soldered? It is doable but not by a general user. Stop throwing jargons without understanding it. And sure external SSDs can be added but that will eat your Type-C ports. Again, for handling those, you probably need to buy some kind of Docks or Hubs with internal SSD slots, adding up to the costs.
Similarly 24GB mac Mini Costs way more than this deal and that poster was asking something in the similar price bracket.

I am not even against getting a Mac Mini, if your work suits it, get it by all mean. I am simply stating the disadvantages of it which people should be aware of before buying it and that's it. But looks like Apple Fanboys have hard time to even accept those. Why just stopping it at 24GB Ram, pay even more to get 2TB SSD...who cares about costs.
