However, the device with Ryzen 7 H 255 is slightly superior, despite looking exactly same. Below are the avantages: -
The Ram support has been bumped up to 128GB (Due to newer firmware)
The HDMI port is 2.1 with 4K@120Hz output vs HDMI 2.0 4k@60Hz in the Ryzen 7 8745HS model
The USB4 Type-C port is capable of Power Delivery In from 65W-100W. So, if you have any USB-C Monitor or USb-C Hub which is capable of delivering 65W+ Power to the Host device, you can use that to power the whole setup without the providied DC Power Adapter.
However I always recommend doing a fresh windows install. Usually these companies just use some cracked windows image to rapidly install the OS, so its better to use your own

This ACEMAGIC mini PC stands out as a compact Ryzen 7 system with unusually strong value for the included 32GB DDR5 and 1TB Gen4 SSD. The H 255 version is described as the better variant, with HDMI 2.1 for 4K at 120Hz, USB4 power delivery, and support for up to 128GB of RAM. The USB4 port also works with Thunderbolt eGPU docks, and the machine has room for storage upgrades. Main cautions are limited port convenience, possible bloatware or a reused Windows image, and the usual uncertainty around support and brand trust.
Common Questions (5)
Yes, it is considered far more powerful than Home Assistant needs. It makes more sense if you want extra headroom for self-hosting or home-server tasks, while cheaper N150/N95 mini PCs are suggested for HA plus Frigate-style camera use.
The Ryzen 7 H 255 version's USB4 Type-C port can take 65W-100W Power Delivery input, so it can be powered from a capable USB-C monitor or hub instead of the DC adapter. The same USB4 port can also be used with a Thunderbolt eGPU dock, though USB4 eGPU setups may lose some GPU performance compared with OCuLink.
The H 255 model is listed as the slightly better version: it supports up to 128GB RAM with newer firmware, has HDMI 2.1 with 4K@120Hz output, and its USB4 port supports 65W-100W PD input. The 8745HS version is described with HDMI 2.0 at 4K@60Hz and a 54W CPU TDP spec.
Yes, this mini PC is described as easy to upgrade for both RAM and SSD, and it is also said to have two NVMe slots in many configurations. That makes storage expansion possible by adding another drive instead of replacing the existing one.
A fresh Windows install is recommended to avoid bloatware and any vendor-modified or cracked Windows image. Reinstalling Windows is also described as a common first step on these mini PCs before putting them into regular use.

Given the price of 32GB DDR5 ram, these are the way to go. I have an ACEMAGIC AM06Pro w/Ryzen 7 5800U 32GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD I picked up in November for $239 for my home office PC and it's been great. I had a new Seagate FireCuda 2TB Solid State Hybrid Drive laying around that I installed in it as it comes with a 2.5" drive bay and an adapter to connect the drive.

Mac Min runs MacOS. Mac Mini is not as upgrade-able, but you can upgrade the SSD. 16 GB of ram is a little bit more limiting in some situations. I rather have an upgradable system, but the bandwidth of the ram is nice. Overall performance in most situations goes to the MAC, but that means little if it doesn't run the software you need.
Overall if you are just a casual user of basic tasks I would likely suggest the MAC. If you are heavily Apple oriented, the Mac is likely a better choice. If you know what you plan to run simply pick the one that works best for you.
