Yall think a prescription from 2023 is still good enough for a pair of reading glasses or should I cough up for a new prescription? There's a cash type, no insurance place where the exam is around $30 or it was then. I'm still using a progressive set from same prescription.

Oh and Coupon code SALE38 seems to take more off than the black friday one and isn't expired.

Subtotal $15.00
Shipping $0.00
Discount -$5.70
Total $9.30

*update* Cheap place is still $30 with eyeglass purchase but went to $50 for just the prescription. Typical.

Even adding the basic coatings for $8 it is still an excellent deal.
Rarely been disappointed by G4U. Some of the frames don't last forever. Still, slick compared to Optometrist charges.

I have been getting my glasses form them for 12+ years. Quality is inconsistent but they do have good customer service and make it right. I still buy from them.

How do you add blue light anti reflective coating and backlight UV or even transition glass or it just provide plain glass with no coating??
They give you options for all that after you select the frame/lens. What I don't like is that they say Anti-scratch coating is included but then at check out time they give you an option for it for extra $.

I can't speak for their normal shipping but I ordered today and they already shipped it. The tracking shows the item actualy arriving and being accepted by a usps location so it's more than just creating a shipped label and calling it shipped. Shipped from California.

If you are just visiting the site to see lens options and prices....

Pick the frames..... add to cart.... then it goes to the prescription page.........

click "Send Later".

Then click the type of lens......

Then click either clear, photochromic, or sunglasses.......

Then you will be at Step 4 which gives the various photochromic options and prices.

Edit: After Step 4 is Step 5 which also has coating options and prices.

I ordered a few pairs two years ago. The quality is fine, and their customer service was great (first pair lost in mail, and they replaced quickly). I am ordering blue light coated single vision RX for reading/computer again. 2 pairs shipped for under $40.

Yes they're cheaper but expect 1-2 month turnaround time as it is being shipped from China, personally bought several pairs over the years....

In South Korea it takes, literally, 10 minutes to make you a full set of prescription glasses from start to finish and hand it to you on the spot. Never understood why it takes 2 weeks for basic eyeglasses to be made in the US. Not only that, it costs 4 times as much too, with no distinction in quality either. There is so many middle man in the transaction, everyone wanting a piece of the pie. Its ridiculous.

I recommend people to get their glasses in South Korea if they visit, travel or business.

I'm still wearing a pair from 4 years ago. Best $20-30 I've spent.

Time to finally replace em

I'm still wearing an $8 pair I bought from these guys 15 years ago 😂 That's gotta be some sort of record.

Oh, notice how Dental and Vision insurance are separate from Medical insurance in America == Criminals stealing $$$$$ from Americans each year for services that ought to be "affordable" like they are in Korea, Japan, etc.
Like $1500 cavity fix here, $25 in Japan. $50-100+ vision exam for the prescription + $100-300+ for glasses here vs under $100 in Asia.
It is absurd when the autorefractor machine can do accurate prescriptions in seconds, too.

If you look at things in the normal range you need most and it's not clear, yes. Otherwise, too small of a change, imo, if any to be worth it.
