Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank Dr.W

Since the OP didn't mention the complete specs, this is not the model with the 1600p OLED display, but with the 1200p 300-nits IPS display.

I've had good experience with 90% of the Thinkpads I've owned. Is Legion as dependable?

Anyone know the wattage of the 5060? Trying to determine if this would be more of a lateral move from my 85W 3070 Laptop.

I just got the OLED version a couple of days ago ($989) and it is fantastic. With HDR enabled and calibration, the image clarity and contrast is just awesome. Totally worth the extra $200 IMHO.

You can flash a higher watt bios from TechPowerup, even for the 3070 which would be better

They seem to be more reliable than most gaming laptop brands and I have not had any issues personally. Battery life is maybe 1/3 of Thinkpad and the charger is a brick so if you don't need a laptop for gaming or budget creative work you may not like it. My Legion 5 Pro charger weighs more than a 13 Macbook Air.

Lenovo is the only mainstream laptop brand I'll touch at this point. Anything else isn't worth the headache.

Lenovo made a set of seriously stupid moves in 2014-2016 (Superfish and LSE) that made me avoid them for half a decade but I must admit it seems they've either cleaned up their act since then (perhaps because of security audits mandated in their legal settlements) or are really good at hiding whatever they're doing.

I saw this model in my local Micro Center next too and OLED Legion 5 and a different laptop with an IPS. The IPS display obviously does not compare to the OLED but it's also dim for an IPS.

FYI got this and had to return because of terrible WiFi, which is known issue with this model and does not improve with driver updates as Lenovo claims
