This compact 7 1 4 inch DeWalt sliding miter saw stands out for portability and quick angle changes, making it handy for frequent moves and repetitive cuts. The small, light build gets regular use, and the blades are described as dirt cheap. It also compares well against Bosch on speed and ease, with the DeWalt's controls feeling more practical. The main caveat is price, since the deal was pulled and the listing reverted to normal pricing. A solid fit for mobile work and fast setup.
DIYers moving a saw between jobsites, because it is light enough to carry often and still gets used frequently.
Customer service reportedly became contentious when the Daily Deals page still showed the discount, which can add friction to getting the advertised price.
No. The deal was reported as pulled early, with the price reverting to normal before the end of the advertised deal window. Some shoppers were asked for screenshots after the change.
Yes. It is described as much faster and easier than the Bosch when changing angles, and the lighter 30 lb weight makes it easier to move around often. The tradeoff is that the Bosch is still a bit lighter by about 4 lb.
No. The saw uses 7-1/4-inch blades, and replacement blades are described as dirt cheap. That lowers ongoing ownership cost, especially if you use the saw often.
It can be overkill for occasional home projects. A Ryobi 7-1/4-inch saw is described as enough for homeowners doing a few projects a year, while the DEWALT is framed as the better pick for pros or heavier use.
Same, I am arguing hardcore with their customer service rep right now. It's legitimately still on their Daily Deals page, but at a whopping discounted price of $389.98 down from $389.98.
There asking for a screenshot of it before it changed
This saw is considered by many professionals- THE BEST 7 1/4 saw. The Ryobi may get the job done, but it aint no Dewalt.
It's 7 1/4", I don't see the dewalt doing anything the Ryobi can't, but sure I concede for pros get the dewalt, for a home owner, doing their own house, or a few houses, and 1-2 projects a year, the Ryobi is more than good enough. I got it from DTO for $120. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fbhLkJDIKI Based on this review if all it needed was a one time calibration I wouldn't pay more than double for the Dewalt personally. I'm just a DIYer though not a pro.
