I still don't understand why they still have, "Vudu" branded gift cards available so long after making such a big deal of changing all branding/titles of their apps and services to, "Fandango" and (even worse) "Fandango at Home" (🤮). One of the most pointless rebrands ever.

That being said, if you are like me and want to stretch every dollar when purchasing movie tickets or digital content, the Gift Card Exchange (GCX) [formerly, "Raise" - another stupid rebrand] usually has these digital gift cards between 14%-20% off. I've used the service for years and always add a gift card to my account before making a purchase. At the time of me posting this, these gift cards are going for 19.7% off and can be in your digital collection in less than a minute, ready to use. Just throwing this out there. The % off varies based on their inventory so not every store is worth it to save $1 on a $100 purchase but these Fandango cards are always worth a check. Restaurants usually have the largest discounted gift cards in the service as well.

Hope this helps some folks. I'm not sharing referral codes, Slickdeals mods, so please don't delete me for referencing a service that helps people save money lol

Not only the rebrand made no sense, you forgot to mention gift card fiasco when people bought fandango gift cards, they didn't work for fandango at home for a long while..
Anyway I think service is now stable and vudu is kinda fading away from people's memories. Lately their servers are acting up and sometimes we cant watch movie we own.. example of better own physical of any movie you absolutely love.
There was a service called playon that you could record streaming for own use, but it doesn't work all thst well anymore either.

Yeah. I remember the card issues everyone was having. What is extremely strange is that I continued to buy the gift cards through GCX and I never had an issue using the cards for both theater tickets or digital purchases. I mentioned that once or twice back when all those issues were going on because, somehow, I wasn't having those problems and was surprised to hear that others were. That definitely would have ticked me off though.

I will occasionally buy physical discs of movies that are worth it (for me) but the vast majority of my content is owned digitally. It isn't ideal but it is the most cost efficient and most feasible way to have titles available on demand and on-the-go without taking the time to research, purchase the necessary tools, and build out a dedicated server. Unfortunately, buying physical doesn't always guarantee the digital code isn't expired or even transitions properly so a server library is something I plan to tackle someday. It just isn't going to be a huge priority for me for the next year or two (at least) so I make due with what is the most convenient right now.
I actually bought the physical disc of the recent Apple studios release of F1 and when I redeemed it on my desktop (my phone wouldn't allow it to be redeemed no matter what method I tried), it wouldn't even let me watch it. The code showed as being redeemed but any attempts to pull up the title to stream only allowed the ability to watch the trailer and stated the date that it would be coming to Apple TV (it has been added to their streaming service at this point). What is even more frustrating is that, despite both accounts being linked, F1 has refused to sync to my FAH account to this day BUT Fandango does have the movie available to purchase. That's some BS. There was also a bunch of drama with folks who purchased the physical disc at release and had it sync to their MA accounts only to have the title pulled from the service right after. MA didn't release any official statement but folks in Reddit threads shared their customer service responses from MA that equated to; sorry, this movie wasn't supposed to be here and won't be available on this platform anymore.
